12/11/06 As previously announced in Census Update No. 30 the number of seats in the Scottish Constituencies at Westminster reduced from 72 to 59 in 2005. As a result, GROS have developed tables containing 2001 Census Data for the new 2005 Westminster Parliamentary Constituencies (WPCs). These tables are now available to view online on the SCROL website replacing the old 1996 WPCs. Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties with our software, a small number of tables are not yet available. If you choose one of these tables you will be presented with a message informing you that they are Under Construction. Please contact the Statistics Customer Services Team if you require further information or assistance.
06/01/04 The last table to go on the SCROL website has now been delivered. It is T28 Theme table on night time/day time population and like other Theme tables it is available for areas down to Standard Wards and Standard Postcode Sectors. No decision has yet been taken about tables UV75-79 withheld for certain area types pending a review by the UK Census Offices of any disclosure risk specifically for these tables (see Census Update 21).
05/01/04 The SCROL Development Team have amended the functionality in the SCROL site to correct a number of small problems relating to the sites use on the Apple Mac platform. We expect Mac users will now be able to fully utilise all of the features in the site.
03/10/03 SCROL's Data Warehouse function goes on-line today. Users can now download zip files for their chosen area that contain all the Census tables for that area.
20/08/03 It is possible that form-fillers on housing benefit may have ticked ‘living rent free’ in response to the Census question on ‘owns/rents’. Households recorded as living rent free are not analysed by type of landlord in tenure tables. Users who wish to count these by landlord and, possibly, make adjustments to tenure tables can do so using supplementary tables UV91, UV92, T54 & T55. Note that T54 & T55 contain detailed information on religion which is not available on the SCROL website because of the risk that sensitive data of this kind might be perceived as disclosive - even though the measures taken by GROS prevent actual disclosure. To obtain these tables, please contact GROS Customer Services on 0131 314 4254 or email customer@gro-scotland.gsi.gov.uk.
02/05/03 The results available in scrolanalyser are expanded to include detailed cross-tabulations from the Census Area Statistics and Standard Table datasets.
10/04/03 The full range of functionality within scrolanalyser goes live, providing access to Summary Census tables (Key Statistics and Univariate Statistics).
25/03/03 scrolbrowser goes live providing access to Census Profiles for a range of areas.
